What are you most proud of? That our rose struggled for several years, but is now blooming well.

@Stella, I live in Fort McMurray, we are a zone 1b-2a. Super cold. Calgary is a zone 3a-3b. Also cold. But there are places to buy roses that are zoned to grow in both places. One really cool place I have found plants specific to the lowest zones is http://www.jeffriesnurseries.com/. They have a great catalog too. You can find roses to suit your zone in their catalog.

Sad news about my rose arch. The remnants of Hurricane Katia blew it down yesterday and we had to saw it down so that it did not harm the milk man this morning. However, I am undeterred and will hope new shoots emerge next season. I will then tie them in more securely.

Your inspiration for this arch was powerful - I commend YOU on the way you are dealing with the loss of a grandchild! I am very confident this arch will again adorn your garden. I am now a follower --I look forward to updates :)
