Instructions

The pattern can be used to make two different types of hats, at two difficulty levels:
Hat A is a solid color, and is technically easy (only knits and purls, and some reductions), and requires only attention and chart following.
Hat B offers some more action - colorwork and corrugated ribbing.
Both hats use the exact same chart.

What was your inspiration?

This stitch pattern is a modification that I made on Barbara Walkers Pavilion pattern. I removed the little roofs, ending with diagonal blocks. Together with the dark gray color they remind me of the slate stone covering my neighbors house.

What are you most proud of?

I love how the diagonals allow the crown to shape naturally, without having to alter the stitch pattern at all throughout the entire hat.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Swatch for gauge.
