What advice would you give someone starting this project? See my comment below on how I sewed vinyl.

Wondering whether you used interfacing for the vinyl portion of your bag and what type you used -- sew in or heat bond. I'm thinking the sew in, but wanted to confirm with you. Thanks.

Hi...oooh, good question. The vinyl is really heat sensitive. I couldn't really touch the iron to it at all. What I did was interface the lining fabric with a fleecy-like iron on interfacing. I used a lightweight fusible interfacing on the exterior word printed fabric, and nothing on the vinyl. The vinyl seems to hold up just fine without the addition of an interfacing. Hope that helps.

Beautiful purse indeed. Like how the zipper rests on the top of the purse with the purse's top edge folding in. I also admire the rounded tabs. How are the tabs' raw edge finished? Did you use Brett's technique on them? Because they are vinyl I deduce you make them single thickness and "sharpie" the edges? Thanks

Thank you Milpeg. The tabs are vinyl, and they are two layers thick. The zipper is sandwiched between the two layers. And yes! I finished the raw edges with a sepia sharpie pen. Works really well, but I had to give it time to dry properly.
