Dobos Torte
Cake
Oven 350
2 1/2 sheet trays - lined with parchment and greased with butter.
6 ounces almond paste
4 ounces sugar (1/2 cup +1 tablespoon)
6 ounces egg yolks
6 ounces cake flour ( 1 1/4 cup = 1 tablespoon)
pinch salt
4 eggs whites
3 Tablespoons sugar

Chocolate Buttercream
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 tablespoon corn ...

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be careful - caramel is hot.
This is a fairly complicated cake - it needs a demo.

I just posted the recipe I used when I made the cake in the photo - i had to cut it down to a one cake. The original recipe made 6 tortes!
