Fibrewebs MCN Sock yarn. Miyuki seed beads size 6/0 silver-lined dark purple.

What was your inspiration?

The beautiful yarn dyed by a friend of mine and the inspirational Laura Nelkin, who's taught me so much about lace and beads!

What are you most proud of?

Finding the perfect project for the yarn!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't neglect the stitch markers! They're very handy for keeping your repeats straight!

Gorgeous! I'm working on my first lace shawl and I'm anxious anout blocking it. Looks like you used some preschool foam puzzle floor mats. Any other tips or tricks to share?

Hi there! Yeah, I sure did! I highly recommend blocking wires as a good investment if you're going to be doing lots of shawls -- they help you get a straight edge. You can also thread some string through the edges and pull it taut. Don't be afraid to block aggressively and really stretch it into shape if that's what it needs because that's when the pattern really shows.

It's a shawl with a beaded edging! I couldn't get the in-progress photo to upload properly earlier, but it's there now.
