This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Knit This: Mastering Lace Shawls »

Instructions

I modified the basic pattern to enlarge the shawl because I choose to use a very fine wool. Additional pattern repeats were added as well as addition edging repeats.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Classic, Traditional

Materials

2-ply Merino wool (undyed) lace-weight

What was your inspiration?

This was a class exercise. I had recently acquired some very lovely 2-ply lace weight merino wool and decided to use this rather than the recommended yarns. Thus the need to made the pattern adjustments for increasing the size because I used a very fine yarn.

What are you most proud of?

This shawl has a marvelous drape and weighs only 3.25 oz (91 grams). It is feather soft and I very much enjoyed working with it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The pattern instructions are clear and easy to follow -- so enjoy the project. It works up relatively quickly and produces a nice product.
