I really like how you finished this quilt with plain sashing and borders. Did you have to change the sizes of a couple of the blocks as I noticed a few were larger that the others.? I have been hesitant to start this quilt as I didn't like the business of the finished look until I saw your example. Appreciate any help on how you put the top together. I have done a few quilts but still consider myself a beginner. I love history so that is why i enrolled in this class.

I can see that she has adjusted the sizes of the blocks by adding a border to the ones that needed to be a little larger. As soon as you make then all the same size which I bet is 14 and 1/2 inches...allowing for 1/4 inch seam... then you just decide what width you want the sashing to be.... it appears to be about 4 inches finished...so 4 and 1/2 when you cut it.,, I hope that helps a little.
