What was your inspiration?

I call this the City Shawl because it has no flowers, trees, leaves, or feathers worked into the lace. There's no fluttery fringe. It's a supersimple, easily memorizable mesh lace pattern, interspersed with layers of just plain garter stitch. Straightforward design, straightforward instructions, clean lines.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you start this on Friday night, you'll have a finished shawl to wear to work on Monday!
