Inspired by Stephanie Japel's "Hats Four Ways" online workshop; I didn't have the correct materials so I winged it and made my own creation! I'm only a beginner so if you have any ideas about how to make this pattern more slick, please share (nicely)!
*Cast on 60 sts *knit 3, purl 3 for 5 rounds *when on each "knit" section - kfb for 1 stitch on each section *Round 7 - rest round *Round 8 - on each "purl" section - pfb for 1 stitch on each section *Round 9 - rest round *Rounds 10 - 14 repeat rounds 6-9 *Rounds 15 - 26 continue *Round 27 -when on each "knit" section k2tog for 1 stitch on each section *Round 28 - rest round *Round 29 - when on each " purl" section p2tog for 1 stitch on each section *continue until 42 sts on circ needle *Transfer to 3 x DPN - continue to decrease until 8 sts on each DPN *Purl each stitch, decreasing until 3 sts on each DPN *Remove DPN's - cut yarn, and use embroidery needle to weave in ends, creating a small hole at the crown.
(you could use 4 DPN's for a more even decrease, I only had a set of 4 so I improvised!) :)

That I made this, seriously.. I am only a beginner and I winged it, and hopefully you agree with me that it pulled off!!
