Circle of Geese BOM

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

Don't be afraid of paper piecing! Once you get the hang of it, it is quite fun. Just be generous with your fabrics. On a couple of mine I cut them slightly smaller that needed.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Whimsical, Classic

Materials

Sandy Gervais fat quarter bundle- Lovely

What was your inspiration?

I took a little artistic license with this project too. I made sort of a windmill or star in the middle of my matching geese.

What are you most proud of?

I had seen paper piecing in several quilting magazines, but I couldn't understand their instructions. Now, with Amy's demonstrations, I feel confident enough to try any paper piecing project... almost. LOL!

MsQuilty, I really like your paper piecing project, and also your creativity. As Shobi says, pp does use a lot of fabric, but the results are such fun! Cannot wait to see more of your paper piecing.

I love this variation. Paper Piecing does waste a lot of fabric though.

A very unusual block! And you are absolutely right about being generous with your fabric - it's so frustrating when you sew it up and turn it over and it doesn't quite fit. Yes - Amy's demonstration certainly clarified paper piecing for me too!
