What was your inspiration?
My 92 yr old grandmother wears caps of this style so I wanted to make a warm winter one for her. The pattern was SO EASY I was sure my 11 yr old could get it done-was a great bored-on-the-weekend thing for her to do
What are you most proud of?
how totally cute these hats are-and quite warm too
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
the first one seemed a bit short; so, if you want it cover your ears, knit the body of the hat a little longer-pattern says 4.5 inches-we went as far as 5.5 on one of them. Of course, check gauge. We also used size 13 US as I did not have 15US needles. I found double points to be too packed when starting with them instead of using the circular-easy to drop stitches unless your needles are pretty long. Go Button shopping and see what super cool embellishments you can put on your hat!
