What was your inspiration?

My son and daughter-in-law were hosting her family Christmas party for her out-of-town family. The invitation featured Washington monuments so I replicated the invitation in the monuments in chocolate - and added their house. The Santa is also in chocolate. I'm an amateur baker - experience limited to grandchildren's birthday cakes and I took Lauren's class just to get an introduction to modeling chocolate - little did I know the perfect excuse to put what I learned to use would come up. My only regret is that I didn't get to use color in keeping with the invitation, other than I darkened their house a bit to make it show up. I LOVED Lauren's class - modeling chocolate came out perfectly first time following her instructions - and had so much fun doing this cake.

What are you most proud of?

I'm really happy about my first attempt at modeling chocolate - and everyone loved it! Thanks, Lauren.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take some time and thought into planning, allow plenty of time, review Lauren's class, and most of all, HAVE FUN!!!
