Instructions
My granny made up this pattern for my very first quilt. It is a present for my mom. I did not have to match any seams! I made bigger seams because it was easier. I cut the boxes in the middle and sewed in a strip for the ribbon. The bows are tubes. It has too much white at the top and the bottom so that she can put it on her new quilting machine.Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
I loved the little birds and the Santas and the colors were just right for my mom.
What are you most proud of?
All the work I did! And I can sew straight seams better now, it was a lot of practice!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make a present, lay it on your table, figure out how many presents you need. We put 2 1/2" strips between the presents. Cut the present squares first, cut each in half, sew in the ribbon strips. Cut it square (Granny used the rotary cutter.) Sew white blocks on the top and bottom, cut the sides evenly. Sew strips between the tall presents. Make tubes, fold and sew at the bottom to make floppy bows.
