What materials did you use? Scraps and scraps and more scraps! 100% Cotton, low loft polyester batting, and muslin for the backing.

Hi, Della May. :-) :-) Yes I do all my own quilting. I bought a Janome 7700 Horizon a year ago and it is fantastic for FMQ'ing and quilting large quilts. I used to also quilt on a smaller Janome DC2011, but I use that one for piecing mostly now.

I just love your quilts! I love the simplicity of your patterns and you have a great sense of colour, something I don't have yet. Most of your quilts are shown on beds which is helpful for guessing size. I'd like to try making one like this, what size would you say it is please?

Hello, Thanks for checking out my work. I usually make quilts that measure about 60 by 80 inches, and I think that is considered either a twin size quilt or a lap, or throw quilt. This particalr one measures 66 x 81, and it fits on a full size bed, with the sides just hanging over the adge a little. Again, thanks for viewing and posting on here! Pleae share when you do your version, I would love to see how your turns out! :-) :-) :-)

I always told my husband that I believed men would make great quilters, The simplicity and precision are this quilt's best qualities, only second to your wonderful color choices! Men are verrry patient . . . I guess they have to be!! Beautiful quilt!!!!

Thanks for the kind words and vote of conficence! This was just a quick little stash buster I made in between other more "deliberate" quilts, but it is one of my favorites. Again, thanks for checking out my work.

Hi QuiltDude, This is a great scrappy pattern and I love your quilting. You really must be very patient. We have the same sewing machine and I still have problems with FMQ. I keep on trying and one day I may actually finish a quilt with FMQ.

Hi, Ladymax. I don't know that "patient" is the right word for me. LOL I enjoy what I do, and I try to challenge myself, or at least learn a new technique with every project. You have a Horizon, too? I LOVE that machine, and I truly enjoy using it to FMQ. Sorry you are having problems with yours. I hope you get the kinks worked out, and yes, it takes practice, and lots of it, to get comfortable with FMQ. I am in no way an expert, but I am confident enough to enjoy it. It's a cycle - the more you practice, the better you get and the better you get, the more you want to do it, and so on. Thanks for posting on here, nowlt's go quilt. :-) :-) :-)
