What was your inspiration?
I first made this as part of a project I did about two years ago, where I made 52 desserts in one year (a dessert a week). I just made it again this weekend as part of a trade with a friend. I made her a couple loaves of babka and she made me an adorable apron!
What are you most proud of?
This is probably my third time making this babka recipe and I have to say, this was the best version I've done. It rose beautifully and turned perfectly golden. I kept one loaf for myself (the recipe makes 3) and it was mouthwateringly delicious!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If you haven't worked with bread before, it can be tricky, but just remember that while you're rolling it up with the filling, it's very forgiving. Don't worry if the dough tears. It will all bake out right in the end.
