What was your inspiration?
I msde this garment bag and hangar to coordinate and be a part of the "Christmas Ensemble' project shown as another posting. I wanted the ensemble to have its very own garment bag so it would be recongnizable in the closet, and wanted a lovely padded satin hangar for the lovely outfit to hang on in the closet.
What are you most proud of?
THe way it all turned out (for not having a pattern or a clue how to make one).
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I used a plastic hangar like you get at the clothing stores. Since it was a full size adult hangar, I had my husband 'cut' off approx. 2" on either end before I wrapped the plastic with batting, then wound it with the folded lining strips. I made little 'mittens' for each end which I sewed to the lining wrapped hangar. I glued the lace embelishment on, and also the roses and bows.
