What was your inspiration?
I was inspired by a machine knitted hat I saw with a similar stitch pattern. I just had to come up with a hand-knit version. I just love the texture of these stitches!
What are you most proud of?
This is my first all knit pattern, so I'm proud that I finally did it. Although I've designed several crochet patterns and even some crochet/knit combined patterns, this one is a milestone for me.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take time to check gauge! The yarn(s) I used with this hat are known to grow when wet blocked, but if you use a yarn that is not going to behave the same way, you may have a hat that is much too small.
