I warped this with stripes, alternating dark and light, but they didn't show through. The weft is a variegated purple. Any ideas on getting the warp to show thru instead of the weft would really help me.

You've made what's called a weft faced fabric because you have more weft rows per inch that warp rows per inch. So to get your warp to show more, either use a reed with a closer sett (10 instead of 8) or don't beat the weft in as hard. Hope this helps.
