What are you most proud of? I love it all. It was such a quick and fun project to make!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This was for a 13 year old boy with a 22" head, so I had to think a little about how to increase the size, but keep it proportional. After a little experimenting, I cut the band fabric to 26" and overlapped it by close to 2" when sewing it to the pouf. I cut the pouf fabric to 22" square (before rounding the corners).

I am just starting to make a baby quilt for two friends who are both chefs and are expecting their first child. The Chef's hat fabric would be just right to make the backing, so that they can turn it over when the baby isn't a baby any more. Could you tell me the name of the fabric, and the designer. With your permission I would like to copy your hat, and make one for the baby as well. Wonderful creative hat. Thanks for the idea.

I made this hat a couple of years ago so I don't remember off the top of my head the name or company for the fabric. I'm pretty sure I still have a few scraps left though so I can check the selvage. But that will have to wait since I am currently away from home for a couple of weeks. As for copying the hat, I made it based on a free online tutorial from Crafty Gemini. Here's the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCdPi2tBpak

Thank you so much for replying to me. I still love the fabric of the chefs hats, but I have now started the quilt and have found a fabric with "tossed chefs" as the design. The chefs are a bit larger than I thought so I will use it for the backing, and it may be fun for when the baby is older to turn the quilt over. If you do find the name of the designer, or the supplier for the hat print, I will be glad to have it. Please do not spend a lot of time, as it is just a whim of mine to have it, not important! Kind regards, Judy Etheridge
