Chef's Hat for Hunter

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
How to Make a Chef's Hat by Crafty Gemini »

Instructions

I followed this Crafty Gemini tutorial but added one additional step to help the "pouf" stand up more. After sewing the pouf to the head band and finishing that seam with a zig zag stitch, I then laid the seam allowance flat against the head band and stitched an additional seam to attach the seam allowance to the headband.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Unisex

Materials

cotton fabric, medium weight fusible interfacing, thread, velcro

What was your inspiration?

After seeing the video tutorial, I knew I had to make this for my Godson, Hunter, who loves to cook.

What are you most proud of?

I love it all. It was such a quick and fun project to make!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This was for a 13 year old boy with a 22" head, so I had to think a little about how to increase the size, but keep it proportional. After a little experimenting, I cut the band fabric to 26" and overlapped it by close to 2" when sewing it to the pouf. I cut the pouf fabric to 22" square (before rounding the corners).
