What materials did you use? Wool Silk Tweed from Lintons of Cumbria, for the main fabric. Silk organza for interfacing Silk Charmeuse for the quilted lining Gutermann gimp for the handworked buttonholes Pure silk thread from Italy for the buttonholes Purchased trim, which was mounted onto the grosgrain ribbon. The silver chain at the hemline is silver plated too.

Dear Marysia.... Love the jacket, the fabric, and the buttons are so classy! I bet your daughter loves the jacket. Great job!

Hi here Swanpeace, the pattern used for this project was Claire Shaeffer's Custom Couture Collection by Vogue patterns. The Vogue Pattern number is V8804.

Thank you! That's my next project. I really want to do this at least once. Thanks for the inspiration!

Swanpeace, you will enjoy making this using all the couture techniques. I especially enjoyed all the research I did on how tailors work their handworked buttonholes and sourced all the correct tailors gimp, silk threads, watched countless videos etc. Have fun and enjoy the process. Sure you will make more than one; I keep promising to make one for myself, but I have bought yet another of Claire's patterns........Vogue 8991 so I don't look like I am trying to compete with my much younger daughter!!
