Chalcedony, Apatite & Peridot Earrings
Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Classic, Romantic

Materials

Aqua Chalcedony briolettes, faceted aqua Apatite and Peridot rondelles, Czech fire-polished crystals and sterling silver wire.

What was your inspiration?

Apatite, Peridot and Chalcedony are some of my favorite gems. I love cluster earrings so I had to make a pair using my favorite gems!!

What are you most proud of?

These were my first attempt at cluster earrings and wrapping a briolette. They took me quite a long time because I wasn't used to working with such a small guage of wire, but I think they turned out pretty well for a first try!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time, work slowly if it's something new for you! I don't have a pattern for these ... I just laid out beads/gems until I got colors, sizes, shapes I liked together and then just started adding them above the briolettes. Once I got the cluster above the brios the way I liked, I added a few more gems to dangle down along side the Chalcedony focal brios for a little something extra!

These are absolutely beautiful. Chalcedony is one of my favorite stones to work with. You did a great job with these.

Thank you Cathy. Yes I made the earwires. I just made a wrapped loop with only 1 or 2 wraps; I added the sterling bead and swirled the wrap wire around the bead, then I finished it with 1 or 2 wraps above the bead. Hope that helps!
