Actually it's a 4-1 chain maille bracelet. Boxchain is a rounded European weave. You need 2 sets to go one direction, interweaving 2 sets going the other direction. This loose dovetail is what makes your box.

As somone who has done chainmail for the last 10 years, I would guess the cost of the colored jump rings.

This is a simple weave and shouldn't really cost more than $15 or $20, seeing as it takes less than an hour to make a bracelet & the material costs aren't that high.
