Style: Whimsical, Cute, Holiday, Classic

Materials

Clay, stamps, glazes, kiln

What was your inspiration?

I like to play with clay with my Granny, and I made these over Thanksgiving.

What are you most proud of?

My tree. I had help with the stand so it could stand up. Mama put it in the china cabinet!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Ceramic buttons need to have the glaze cleaned out of the holes (made with little straws) really good. You also should not wash them in the washing machine, but sew then onto a clear button. Then when you make something, you make buttonholes on both sides and put the clay button through both holes. That way you can remove the button to wash. I am going to use my buttons on a bag or something. Granny made my little bowl into a pincushiion for me :-D
