Celtic Spirals Hair Barrette

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Hair Barrette or Shawl pin »

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Traditional, Whimsical, Funky

Materials

Made with a heavy gauge copper wire which I have hammered, this can be worn as a hair barrette or Shawl pin. I have secured three double spirals together to form a triangular shape, which I think has a very celtic look. The Spirals have been wrapped and the coiled to add detail but also making this piece very strong. This design is adjustable, by passing the pin through different loops increases or decreases the space between the barrette and the pin, allowing you to secure different amount of hair or fabric. It measures 1 3/4" wide (along the straight edge) and 1 3/4" tall and has a deep curve which is 1/2". The pin is 3 1/8" long.

Thank you!! Yes I have been doing a lot of hammering, there is nothing like pounding on some wire for stress relief :)
