What materials did you use? Cotton fabric and Cindy's gourmet batting recipe, cotton with an additional layer of wool. Bottom Line thread for topstitching except for the edge of the circle which was 40wt Floriani embroidery thread to give it a little extra weight.

I am still very undecided over which orientation, horizontal or vertical, looks best for this quilt. Love to get other's opinions.

I like what you labeled as finished, horizontal but which looks vertical to me. Beautiful work! Wish there was a more close-up view of your quilting. It looks amazing. Did you scribble between anything?

Not sure that I achieved enough contrast in light dark details but it does look really beautiful in a strong cross light.

You did a WONDERFUL job Cathy!!! I love the subtle-ness of the circle going underneath your Celtic's perfect. It's a great detail and enhances, without taking away, from your focal point. Your feathers in the corners provide beautiful movement and detail. Job VERY WELL DONE!!! Congratulations! :) By the way I like it oriented just the way you have it with the circle lines horizontal.

What tools did you use to mark this project? I have not found the one tool that I love. Also, has the quilt been washed since you quilted it?

I used blue mark b gone pen to mark the outer edge of the circle stencil and loops in cream fabric although print hides the design. All other quilting was freehand. And yes, the quilt was soaked in cold waterfor 30+ minutes and sort of blocked. I had marked a grid in outer corners which I ended up not using which really needed to be removed

I forgot that I also marked guides for the center lines at one inch intervals like Cindy suggested in order to keep the lines semi straight.

Really nice job!
