Thanks Liseecakes! I followed James Rosselle's Exotic Sugar Orchids instructions to a tee... for the colours I used several shades of pinks, magentas and purples with cornstarch :)

Hi nadyatk, Diffent shades of detal dust and lots of layers! I actually used a very pale pink gumpaste for the flowers and I always use more than one shade of colour to get more dimensions - for this flower, I used deep magenta, pale pink, shimmering pink (medium hue), hot pink, fusia and mixed it with cornstartch so it doesn't go on too dark, then layer on the dusts until you get the colour that you like. I hope this helps.

i mix loads too! i think i just need a true bloick magenta colour - like your deep magenta, because everything i try mixing from basic colours just ends up looking a little "muddy". Thanks!
