What materials did you use? Pure cotton fabric by Makower with designs based on the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle, cotton piecing thread, polyester wadding, variegated quilting thread.

What are you most proud of? The bright, cheerful look. The quillow has been made for a baby whose sex we don't yet know and whose nursery is decorated in neutral colours, so a splash of primary colours is needed. The quilt will be too large for a baby crib or pram, but it folds up into a pocket on the back to make a cushion that can decorate the nursery until the child is in a bigger bed, when it can be a bed quilt.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The design "disappearing nine-patch" is very easy and takes very little time to cut and assemble.

Super, super, super... such a fun and colourful quilt. Love everything about it Pat and just perfect for why it was made. :)

Thank you, Desna! Guess what - I've made another of the little car seat quilts with the leftovers! I'll post pictures shortly.

The colours are great. Some lucky little one, will love this. The quilted flowers are terrific. Congratulations on a great job

Thank you very much! I thought my quilted flowers were a bit "scribbly"! A friend suggested that, instead of the flowers, I should quilt apples, bananas etc onto the plain squares to echo the theme of the fabric, but although I sketched out what I wanted, I didn't have the courage to attempt them!

This is adoreable Pat! Love the caterpillars. You've placed them so well. And your signature purple just "makes" this quillow :D

Thank you, Jean. I ordered the fabric on line and there were several quarter metres. I thought they would have sent fat quarters, but they didn't and they also didn't cut the the long quarters very helpfully where the pictures were concerned, so I had some trouble in fussy-cutting the pictures properly. However, it turned out okay in the end.
