Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. Beautiful snow fall this week. Went out and took some photos. Still trying to work on value and using one color. Seemed like an overcast snow layered day was a ripe opportunity for black and white. First time trying to take an image from my own photo and turn it into a water color.

Hello cats-eye-- Great job -- this is a very nice piece, and you've achieved a lot of depth in this. Love the highlights on the cattails -- did you paint around them? You're doing great with value, but one thing to try -- the band across the middle -- perhaps varying the values within that (and it may be a tad too dark). You could also try varying some of the blacks in the tress --but not too much. they're neat--love the light shining through.

Looks great, has a very desolate feel to it.

Wow, it's so beautiful! I love the highlights on the cattails & how beautifully you did the tree's. I like how you let the light show through the tree's. You didn't color it all in. Very pretty!!

This piece catches my eye each time I look at the projects. It is very striking. I like the subject and the way you've managed to capture the cold stillness of the scene. Nice job.
