Cardinal Clusters

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Wire-Wrapped Stones, Crystals & Clusters »

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Romantic, Whimsical, Funky, Holiday

Materials

Assorted faceted glass and acrylic beads, 24 gauge headpins, seed beads.

What was your inspiration?

Trying to reduce my bead stash, I used a color wheel to select an analogous palate for this piece. I seldom make pieces in this color family and was simply trying to push myself out of my comfort zone.

What are you most proud of?

I like the way the colors play against each other, particularly the vivid tomato red of the focal bead.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Grab a color wheel and play!

I just posted another piece on my facebook Woodside WireWorks page with these colors.....you know me, it is easier to make something else than clean up. I like this piece but I believe I like the other one more. Now, about that book...You are a mama everyday. Buy it now!

Oh Thank you so much! Buy the book, "Beaded Colorways" by Beverly Ash Gilbert. It comes with color wheels in the back and templates to put over the wheel to try out different arrangements. It's by far the most inspiring beading publication I have purchased to date. And thank you for your kindness. You made my day!
