What was your inspiration?
Art teachers don't always have the money to buy canvas boards for their classes, and yet, oil painting and acrylic painting are curriculum requirements. These canvases are made from sewing scraps in much the same way as a very small quilt. The students can paint an original work of art on one side.
What are you most proud of?
After 15 years in Cub Scouts and Girls Scouts, four years in after school care, and being certified to teach art, I am now writing a column for The Examiner about children's arts and crafts. It is a perfect blend of all my loves. I hope art teachers, home school parents, after school care providers, youth group leaders and individuals will read my articles and learn how to have fun and reinforce education at the same time.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
