What materials did you use? Fat Quarters from my local Quilt shop. I picked out bright and fun colors keeping with the pattern in the magazine. I'm making this for my Mom and she loves cats and dogs so there were two fat quarters that were dog and cat themed. Although they initially didn't "match" the quilt colors, I found that after piecing the blocks together, they really do look good in the block.

What are you most proud of? This is supposed to have 12 blocks but I made more to make it a 4x4 quilt vice 3x4 so it will be bigger. I haven't finished it yet. I ended up machine quilting this on my little sewing machine (well, not LITTLE but my normal sized sewing machine, not a longarm) and it turned out pretty good. I'm still getting all the IP's off the quilt but it looks good so far.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is definitely for a more experienced quilter. This is only my second quilt and I am having some problems with measuring and piecing and I know I'm making some mistakes. If you are going to quilt it in a pattern different than the one on the magazine, make yourself an extra block and quilt the individual block first in order to have your pattern down. I'm not real experienced at quilting by hand or machine and found the pattern choice of quilting was just a bit too complex for me. I chose to machine quilt this one vice hand quilting it because of the red thread and straight lines.
