Type of item: Home Decor

Style: Casual, Traditional

Materials

Novita Puro yarn in three different colors, Patton's Icelandic in off white and dark brown/gray

What was your inspiration?

I still had some Puro leftover from the first one and a vacation in the Bahamas - what a nicer place to make these mindless little rectangles for future assembly! The name finally came from me sitting in candle light knitting the last borders last Monday with Sandy raging outside and we having no power for several hours.

What are you most proud of?

The white border was inspired by Ravelry images, I think it makes it stand out in a special way, and pushed for by my traveling companion who really wanted me to make one with a white border. The dark border really gives it a bit more of a frame, and I wanted to use the one repeat of white garter to accent the field as they do with the Passe-Partouts in framing pictures.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It is so easy, try it out. Only the very finishing takes a bit of patience and strength when it gets to be close to the finished size.
