What was your inspiration?
I try and make at least 100 hats every year for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. In 2012 I only made 80 so I'm starting earlier this year.
What are you most proud of?
Being a cancer survivor myself, I know what even small acts of kindness can mean.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Any hat patterns are appreciated, as well as nice scarves that can be tied around their heads. Nothing scratchy so acrylic really is the best yarn to use--although bamboo is also really nice.
