Instructions

There are no special instructions, except that I used the 'pillow case' method for finishing this quilt.
I recycled an old comforter for the inside. This ended up making a very heavy quilt.
I used a flat sheet with the LSU logo for the backing and it worked out well.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Children

Style: Casual, Outdoorsy, Classic, Traditional

Materials

100% cottons, duck, light canvas, flat sheet, and a recycled comforter

What was your inspiration?

I was making a quilt for my nephews for Christmas and the youngest one preferred GI Jo to sports and he likes the thicker feel of comforters so this was the result.

What are you most proud of?

I was most pleased with how the blue and tan went with the camouflage block.

This was the first quilt that I did the turn method for finishing the quilt instead of using binding.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The materials I used in this quilt were very heavy and it gave my little machine a workout putting it all together. Be sure your sewing machine can handle heavy duty materials.
