The cameleon is made from Regalice and then painted in a mix of water and olive powder colour. The log is a traditional chocolate cake, cooked it a very tall tin (swiss roll would probably have been easier!)
What was your inspiration?
I was asked to make a reptile cake
What are you most proud of?
The chameleon. It was the first one I've made and the first time I've 'painted' one of my cakes.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make the chameleon well in advance as it will take a few days to dry. Also, dry it on a tin which is roughly the same shape and size as the finished cake will be. This will ensure that it sits on the log properly.
