What was your inspiration?
The Cambie Dress pattern by Sewaholic really appealed to me. I was looking for a dress I could wear to the office.
What are you most proud of?
The pattern is designed for the pear shape woman and I am have the rectangular shape body. So my alterations to the bottom half skirt had to take into account the angled pockets while reducing the hips and maintaining the waist. This took a few fittings of the muslin but the end result I have very happy with.
This is the first dress I've made using the couture techniques and overall the dress feels expensive.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Enjoy the couture process.
