What materials did you use? Red Heart Soft - 2 skeins "Berry" 5 oz, 256 yds each skein. Crochet hook size G or best for you

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is pretty easy. When finished, I thought the first row seemed to need some heft so I added a row of single crochet around, think I put 2 SC's in each opening and it gave it more shape.

Does this need to be done in the round or can you sew the ends together after it is done?

I'm guessing you might be able to change the pattern so that you go back and forth and then sew together at the end, but if you follow the pattern when you chain your first row you close it and continue on. The hardest part is not twisting that first row - but once you connect correctly, it's very easy and fast after that! You just use a normal crochet hook, nothing fancy. The pattern is above and you can check it out!

When I connect the row I am getting a seam with bit of a gap. Is that right or am I doing something wrong. I know you slip stitch into to top of the chain two. Then do you skip that chain one or single croche into the chain one closest to the Chain 2 to start the next row.
