What was your inspiration?
Fashion mixed with functionality was my inspiration. I love the awesome long warm socks that show at the top of boots, but don't always want to wear a pair of socks that thick & heavy. Boot cuffs give the illusion of a warm snuggly sock, but are much easier to wear with boots.
I"m also obsessed with textures & patterns. What better than to design a boot cuff with cables! Unique & chic at the same time!
What are you most proud of?
The mini photo tutorial will help most people understand the 4 stitches in the cabling series. Yes, it's only 4 stitches repeated over and over to create the texture-rich cabling design. I have a variety of testers,, ranging from advanced beginners to crocheting veterans who have tested this patter & help me clarify & perfect it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Read the entire pattern through once. Look at the photo tutorial. Then, get started. Once you get the series of 4 stitches down, this project can be worked up quickly within an hour or two.
