Instructions

I added beads the third and third-to-last stitches on every row 4 in the repeating cable pattern. I also added one extra stitch to each end so the beads would be centered in the garter stitch.

What was your inspiration?

My knitting guild recently offered a class on using beads with your knitting, and a friend showed me a pattern for a cute braided headband she wanted to make. And this weekend my hubby and I were heading to the mountains and I didn't want to wear a hat, so I made this headband during the drive to keep my ears warm.

What are you most proud of?

I am must proud that I didn't have to rip anything out!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you haven't done beading with knitting before, start with a small project and big beads to see if you're going to like it. It would be awful to get half way through a beautiful beaded shawl only to realize that you hate using beads!
