Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Cake Decorating

Type of item: Food

For: Unisex

Style: Retro / Vintage

Materials

Pettinice, powder colours and edible glitter, and of course a white chocolate mud cake.

What was your inspiration?

I was asked by a friend to make a cake for her cabaret dance pupils for their Xmas break up party. Having seen them dance in their end of year dance extravaganza I took my ideas from their costumes used in these performances . The draping on the cake represents the curtains used in old time theatre I used the style of draping I learnt in the Bejewelled Wedding Cake Craftsy tutorials and the jewels made in the course.

What are you most proud of?

The whole finished product really and it was a lot of fun to create an original cake.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have fun using all your learnt skills from your courses. Immerse yourself in your own creativity.

I used lemon extract (you can use alcohol to mix with the gold powder). I will have to wait until I get home to find out exactly what type of gold powder I used. Will get back to you.
