What materials did you use?
Seascapes panel and charm pack by Deb Strain for Moda, plus batiks from Robert Kaufman, plus Sailaway for the top and bottom of the backing, and Kona white cotton for the borders and sashing.
This is a commissioned quilt made for a twin bed. It will be living in a summer cottage on Grand Manan island, overlooking the Bay of Fundy. The owner is a marine biologist, researcher and recently published author.
This is just gorgeous! I love everything about this - from the colors to the panels to the quilting to the back... The marine biologist could not have asked for a better quilt. Thanks for sharing. :-) :-) :-)
Thank you so much for your kind comments - greatly appreciate them!
I am speechless. I love blue n white. I live in. SEA ISLE when I saw sea I thought you were a local. I was so hoping. I lost my house in super storm sandy n still have not been allowed to move forward with it. I live in a TRAVL TRAILER. Not complaining. But the beauty in you quilt was able to life my spirits today.. It is to die for!!!
First of all - thank you so much for your lovely comments. You have left me speechless, too! I am very sorry to hear you are still dealing with the aftermath of Sandy - and am not sure if you are a quilter or not - but if you are, I would love to send you one of the two "Sea" panels I have stashed away (they are what I used in the center of this quilt), and if I still have a Seascapes charm pack, I will include enough charms for the centres of the surrounding blocks. All you would need is some fan coral batik (that's what I used) for the borders around the charm squares, and some white fabric - and you could make one for yourself. If you'd like the fabrics (as a gift from me), please send me an e-mail to 'firstname.lastname@example.org', or, if you prefer - post your name and mailing address here. I'll put them into the mail right away...
