What was your inspiration?
Dolly Parton has a thing for butterflies and I thought it would be fun to make a metal one and as we have a craftsy meeting I thought it would be a good thing as a reminder of the meeting- I watched Part of Lisa Niven Kellys Dvd and had been playing around with the idea for a while- the metal butterflies you see on the poles in flower gardens and such..
What are you most proud of?
That it turned out ok and I didnt break anything in the process. And its DONE! another one to put in my little suitcase of stuff.. :)
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Becareful when you put the holes around the edges because the metal is not as strong as you think it is and the wire can break through if you have hammered it a few times-make sure you space them out and leave enough space for your beads- take your time, no rush, and dont get upset if something doesnt look quite the way you want it too. Add your own touchs like glitter or different colored beads or even make the butterfly smaller and join them together to make a necklace- dont limit yourself to a pattern-
