What materials did you use? I was making the sweatshirt hoodie from Meg McElwee's knit class and decided that I needed to embroider it. The nice thing about embroidering something before it is sewn, it is easier to handle and less bulk. I used a set of butterflies from Urban Threads. I combined three different patterns, so they aren't really symmetrical but aren't obviously asymmetrical. The challenge was placement especially not knowing if part of the hood would cover the design.

What are you most proud of? I loved the way it turned out. The pattern had the butterflies in two different colors. I wanted multiple colors without letting the eye pair up the twos.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Sweatshirt fleece is fun to embroider. I didn't follow the placement rules. Sometimes you just have to go and do it your way. This time it worked. At least I think it did.

Very cute, I would never have thought of butterfly's. I really like it.
