What materials did you use? I used the pattern Big Butterfly from the book Big Blocks, Easy Quilts by Suzanne McNeil. I ordered the fabric used by the designer except in pink rather than turquoise. The fabric is Moda's Butterfly Fling by Me & My Sister.

What are you most proud of? I felt I made real progress in free motion quilting. I was pleased that I could free motion a side view of butterflies without using a pattern

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Try and find the Moda fabric online.

Thanks for your comments. The colors are lighter and brighter than the picture shows, at least on my computer. I made the quilt for my niece's little girl, Claire, I received a nice thank you note with a picture Claire drew. Her mother says that each night when Claire goes to bed they find another detail to look at. Oh, the back is pieced as well.
