What are you most proud of? This class is the inspiration for the quilting design. I planned to use a walking foot to to quilt the semi-circle pattern, but failed miserably. I gave up and took out the stitches. Since I was on a deadline, I changed gears and opted for using my free-motion foot to create the curves. I still want to know where I went wrong and will try the walking foot again.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't give up. Creativity is a process. Try, try and try again :-)

This is a great idea with the gentle curves but also following a semi circle. I'm working on a leaf themed quilt now that this pattern might work on too. What kind of thread did you use for the curves? Did you ever figure out what went wrong with the walking foot?

Hi, thanks. Yes, this would be a nice pattern to try with leaves. What a neat idea. I used Magnico, by Superior Threads. Well, I think it was the first tight curve I attempted to stitch. It was hard to manipulate the quilt so the quilting came out rough, and uneven. It did not look like a curve at all. LOL I will have to review that section of the class again to see where I went wrong. Maybe it was the stitch length. I don't know.

Ha! Im reading your response about the curves not being smooth. I'm guessing it will be problematic for me to manipulate my quilt as well. Small machine! I'll work on it this weekend and see how it goes. Thanks for your response!

This is just a lovely piece of work. Your quilting design really highlights the flight of the butterflies. I really like your cluster of flowers and the colours with the the two light with dark middles. Really really pretty!

Aww, thanks so much! This was a fun project. And I learned a few things in the process.
