I had some butterfly fabric in my stash and wanted to make a quilt for my best friends wedding. She is fighting ovarian cancer and love butterflies.
What was your inspiration?
The fabric was the inspiration, and wanting to make a quilt for my friend's wedding. I have the 'square in a square' rulers and pattern books, and wanted to try to adapt a basic square in square pattern to showcase fabric.
What are you most proud of?
Finishing on time for the wedding, and seeing how happy the quilt made her when she opened it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Let the quilt tell you what it wants to be. The finished quilt was not what I had imagined, but I love it.
