What materials did you use? cotton, ribbon and embroidery silks

What are you most proud of? I love the bees and their fluffy thoraxes, it took a while to sort out how to represent their fluffiness but eventually worked with a full 6 strands of embroidery silk knotted the end went up through the fabric from back to front then down from front to back about 3 mm away then back up through the resulting stitch from back to front and cut the thread off about 10 mm from the fabric. Once all the knots were in place I separated each thread with a needle and fluffed it up. This was then trimmed back to give the shape I needed.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I worked from a picture but was not a slave to it, I used it to give me a basic idea of gradations of colour through the abdomen and then played with it.

Thank you, I've been trying to find it but with no luck. I think I just googled images of honey bees. I'll keep looking at get back to you if I can find it.
