What was your inspiration?
A dress I saw in a women catalog that looked very similar to the Burda pattern. I shortened the sleeves and overall length of the Burda dress, otherwise it is the same silhouette.
What are you most proud of?
The fit which was a considerable challenge given the importance of fit to this style. To further complicate matters, my daughter (who is wearing the dress) lives several states away and was not available for the muslin fittings.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make a muslin first.
