Instructions

Here is a quick and easy-to-knit dickey suitable for both guys and gals. Using far less yardage than an entire sweater, you can still get the look of a sweater in a luxury fiber by wearing this dickey under an open-collared shirt, V or crew neck shirt.

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Unisex

Style: Outdoorsy, Casual, Classic, Traditional, Retro / Vintage

Materials

Earth Lite by Buffalo Gold, 90% bison down/10% nylon, color Maroon

What was your inspiration?

The dickey is knitted starting with a twisted rib stitch mock turtleneck collar, then proceeds seamlessly to the raglan-style yoke.

The front flap extension is worked flat this additional length in front makes the dickey suitable for wearing under open-collared or V-necked shirts and blouses.

What are you most proud of?

Short row shaping is used to raise the back neckline higher than the front, thus assuring a comfortable fit that doesnt feel like it is choking you. This is just another example of the kind of attention to detail in HeartStrings patterns.
